SolarKing’s shade structure lighting lighting system was designed to provide lighting for tot lots/playground equipment/etc. underneath shade canopies/sails. The system provides reliability and value where regular electric lighting is not an option or it is cost prohibitive. The system was designed to be as vandal resistant as possible with the solar module mounted on top of the pole (approximately 17’ above-grade), acrylic lenses on the light fixtures, and the battery is buried underground in SolarKing’s patented underground battery enclosure. These systems have been installed all around the Valley and are configured to operate year-round on a dusk-to-dawn basis.
System Components

- Morningstar Sunlight 10L system controller
- Battery – varies, depending on the number of light fixtures being powered; battery buried in SolarKing’s patented
- underground battery container; 105AH typical
- A typical system has two 72-LED light-bricks, but will vary based on size/construction of the shade structure
- 4” square-steel tubing pole is powder-coated and the base is taped for rust-resistance and durability
