SolarKing’s first patented product was a solar-powered motion-activated lighting system for providing lighting at mail cluster-box-units (CBUs). SolarKing has further refined the product and to date has sold/installed thousands of these systems as well as shipping them from coast-to-coast for installation by local companies. 

Over the years, SolarKing also developed a number of large solar-powered lighting systems for park/playground/court and area lighting applications. These systems have now all been replaced by SolarKing’s patented Sentinel® lighting system which, in addition to park/playground/court and area lighting applications, has also been used for parking lot lighting and street lighting.

Many of the parks that SolarKing installed lighting systems in also had ramadas. The vast majority of the ramadas did not have any lighting because grid-tie power (110VAC) wasn’t run to the ramadas when they were constructed. SolarKing’s ramada lighting system is designed to provide good lighting levels under the ramada while being quite resistant to vandalism.

The need for monument lighting systems also became apparent. Many communities were built with monuments but the builders did not provide 110VAC power to the monuments. Over the years SolarKing has continued to improve its monument lighting systems to ensure that they are bright-enough, very reliable, and resistant to ‘casual-vandalism’.

The need for sidewalk/pathway lighting was also noticed. SolarKing developed and continue to improve its ‘bollard’ lighting systems. The bollard’s unique design using 4” square-steel-tubing and imbedded LED light-bricks makes them very tough while providing sufficient light for residents to see what’s on or around the walkways.

SolarKing has developed other solar-powered solutions for many communities’ needs. From solar-powered irrigation controller power stations (so an electric meter isn’t needed to only run an irrigation controller) to shade structure lighting systems (typically installed over playgrounds/tot lots), SolarKing is always looking to develop new products to provide cost-effective, solar-powered alternatives where it would generally be too expensive to get grid-tied power.
